As an on-air anchor, reporter and cameraman, Francis brings a quarter century of television news experience to FRMediaTrain. Crisscrossing the country while working for several different affiliates in seven distinct markets he has covered countless newsworthy events that required a “Jack of all Trades” skill set and mentality — from crime, natural disasters and politics to high school athletics, US Opens and Super Bowls.
Over the years, while interacting with some of the most successful athletes and organizations in sports Francis saw first-hand how access to information is policed and how players and coaches are counseled to *CONTROL THE MESSAGE*. On a daily basis, none do that better than an NFL franchise and they use many of the same techniques you will learn from FRMediaTrain.
Using those skills and his years as an on-air communicator Francis can teach anyone, no matter how reluctant or nervous, how to perfect the art of being comfortable and effective in front of the camera or microphone.
A seven time Emmy nominee and Wisconsin Broadcaster of the Year award winner Francis began his career in 1993 in Portland, ME learning the ins and outs of producing newscasts and documentary programs under extreme deadline.
While working in North Carolina and Virginia in the late 90’s he put his video journalism and interview skills to use during a slew of Hurricanes and was routinely called upon to go into the field during the worst of the storms, shooting and feeding live video and reaction to the damage.
Francis also spent time in Milwaukee and then Seattle. There he covered numerous national headline grabbing events including the Major League Baseball and Major League Soccer playoffs, the U.S. Open and PGA Championship golf tournaments and multiple NFL seasons culminating with two consecutive Super Bowls runs by the Seattle Seahawks.
In addition to co-founding FRMediaTrain he currently freelances as a network anchor for the PAC 12 conference, based in San Francisco.
